SHAUN JAMES FULL DISCOGRAPHY ///

Weird fun fact about me:

I'm one of those people that If I like a particular record that much I will literally listen to it for 9 hours straight on repeat.

My friends call me crazy and say they can only listen to a song once. For instance the other day I was playing an old Miley Cyrus record for 8 hours because it reminded me of a great summer in 1997, even though the song came out in 2009. But for pretty much 8 hours I was happy and high on music, contently enjoying my nostalgic journey that this particular record gave me.

Today whilst sipping my coffee and relaxing I played a Jeff Mills record for 6 hours. It is what it is ;)

Morning Coffee & Q&A:

Q: How long have you been doing music?

A: I've been musically inclined since I was 9 years old. A more detailed answer would be for another day but I've been producing records for over 10 years, and DJ'ing for over 5 years. I learned everything I needed to know about DJ'ing in 1999 on vinyl from my older brother. Music production and other skill sets such as videography and design I self taught & learned myself on my own. But all in all... I'd say 15+ years.

Q: What is your most favourite style of music?

A: Techno! Of course! Ha, but all jokes aside I love all styles and genres of music. From Techno to House, from House to Rock & Roll, and from Rock & Roll to a bit of Jazz. I love Jazz and the blues. I love everything. Even heavy metal. But my number 1 is Techno, forever will be.

Q: What's your favourite food?

A: BBQ chicken pizza

Q: Are you signed to a label? And do you have any advice for young musicians?

A: Yes I am currently signed to 1 label. My advice for any musician is this, I'm not taking age into consideration as I believe music has no age limit or expiry date. Music will forever be universal, of all sexes, all races and all ages. But this is a is a good question and also falls into what I do myself personally. 100% of my discography is released by myself and my distribution company. My advice to any musician is to make the music you love, and that is all. If you don't love what you do and you're doing something your hate just to impress others then I'm afraid you will be very depressed and lonely as you go through life. Do what makes you happy and do it well :) Do you well.

Everyone want's to get signed to a label these days, and any old label comes along they think its a dream come true like I did. Trust me when I say it's not all what its cracked up to be, UNLESS you genuinely have a great label, manager and staff around you. There are some great labels who look after their artists and promote their work and get their artists in the spotlight of course, but... for now... I do my own thing.
